Pastor AngusB. Thompson
Pastor Angus Thompson is from Kilgore, Texas. he has been preaching for over forty years. He is the organizing pastor of the New Jerusalem Baptist Church, where he has served for thirty years. His first pastorate was the Macedonia Baptist Church in Quanah, Texas, where he served five years. He has served as President of the Eastside Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance. He's a member of the Board of Trustees of the Original West Texas Baptist Association's Trust Fund.
Rev. Thompson is married to Shirley Evone Houston of Lufkin, Texas. They have four children and six grandchildren. Thompson received his BA and MA from Midwestern State University. He has served as an adjunct professor for Midwestern State and Vernon College.
Rev. Thompson served on the Wichita Falls City Council for 12 years. He served as the Executive Director of the Community Action Corporation. He is a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society, and other organizations that promote education and community improvement.
Pastor Thompson is a writer for The Worker Magazine; he is a contributor to The Secrete Place, and The Upper Room. His Sunday School Review is carried by the Wilkins Broadcasting System and by Mission Gospel Train.
